Robert Sluka is Lead Scientist of A Rocha’s Marine Conservation Programme. He is grateful for the opportunities he has had to swim in beautiful places alongside remarkable creatures across God’s blue planet.

Bob will share stories from his journey of faith – from an anthropocentric dualism towards a growing focus on creatureliness and contemplative ecology.

His book, Brevard County Almanac: Meditations on Sea, Shore, and Sacred Life in the Indian River Lagoon, brings together many of these reflections as he learns to love and attend deeply to his current place on Florida’s east coast.

Bob is also eager to hear how participants understand and relate to the ocean, and to explore theological insights and practices that could enrich Eco Church Aotearoa.
