A Rocha Eco Organisations

Walking together in creation care

As we journey alongside church communities through the Eco Church project, we often connect with Christian organisations — including schools, NGOs, denominational offices, and para-church ministries — who are also passionate about integrating care for creation into their organisational life.

These groups play a vital role in shaping culture, resourcing communities, and providing leadership within the wider Church. Together, we can strengthen a growing movement that demonstrates the love of God through how we steward the world He has made.

The Eco Action Planner

To support this journey, we’ve created the A Rocha Eco Action Planner — a practical tool for Christian organisations to:

  • Evaluate where you’re at across key areas of organisational life

  • Spark conversation with your leadership teams, staff, or boards

  • Prioritise actions that are realistic and meaningful in your context

  • Plan intentional next steps in your creation care journey

Who Is It For?

The Eco Action Planner is designed for:

  • Church schools and colleges seeking to integrate sustainability into teaching, campus life, facilities, and grounds management.

  • Denominational offices and leadership bodies wanting to model good practice and equip their churches.

  • Christian NGOs and mission organisations wanting to integrate creation care into their programmes, advocacy, and community work.

  • Para-church ministries (children and youth ministries, student ministries, outdoor education ministries, chaplaincies) wanting to witness to God’s care for creation.

  • Christian campsites and retreat venues looking to embed ecological practices in their programmes and facilities.

  • Christian businesses aiming to reflect stewardship and sustainability in their operations

How It Works

  • Reflect – reflect on your current practices across leadership, organisational culture, facilities, operations, assets, work practices, land, community, and events.

  • Discuss – use the questions, prompts and ideabank to engage your team in conversation.

  • Choose priorities – set goals and identify practical next steps that are achievable and impactful.

  • Take action – implement changes and celebrate progress as part of your discipleship and mission.

  • Review and share - take a step back, review learnings, and share your story.

Why It Matters

Creation care is not just an optional extra — it’s a vital expression of our worship, witness, and justice. By embedding sustainability and ecological discipleship into organisational life, faith-based organisations help equip the wider Church to respond to today’s environmental challenges with hope and integrity.

Join the Movement

We’d love to connect with your organisation and hear how you’re engaging with creation care. Whether you’re just starting out or already leading the way, the Eco Action Planner can help shape your next chapter.

We also want to hear and share your creation care journey stories. By sharing experiences, successes, and challenges, we can inspire and encourage other faith-based organisations to take meaningful steps in their own journey.

Additionally, join us for our Eco Church Partners Lunchtime Korero — a space to connect with other organisations, exchange ideas, and explore collaboration in creation care.
